Privacy Policy
have a band school · last updated 15 September 2026
The short version. This app only works with an account given to you by your music school. Everything you see in it belongs to that school: your lessons, your materials, your invoices. We do not sell data, we do not show ads, and we do not use any third party analytics or tracking. The mobile app does not record audio.
Who is responsible for what
Your music school decides what student information exists, who may see it and how long it is kept. The school is the controller of that data. have a band operates the software and the servers on the school's behalf, as its processor. If you want data corrected or removed, the fastest route is to ask your school; you can also write to us and we will route it.
What the app handles
- Who you are. Name, e-mail address, role (student, guardian or teacher) and the school you belong to. Created by the school, not by the app.
- Your school life. Schedule and lessons, materials and learning paths the school published, studies your teacher released, your notes and the teacher's feedback.
- Your practice. What you practised and what you sent back to the teacher.
- Money owed to the school. Invoices the school issued, amounts, due dates, payment status, and the Pix or boleto codes the school generated. If you tell the app you paid, that record goes to the school for confirmation.
- Community. Posts, replies and the profile you choose to show, inside your school and, if your school enables it, the wider have a band network.
- The device. A local profile and the credential that links the app to your school account, stored encrypted on the device itself.
Payments
The app does not process payments and never asks for a card. It shows the charge your school issued and lets you copy the Pix code or the boleto line so you can pay in your own bank. The money moves between you and your school, through the school's payment provider. The app only learns whether the school marked an invoice as paid.
What the app does not do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No third party analytics, crash reporting or tracking SDK.
- No sale or rental of personal data, to anyone, ever.
- No location, contacts, photos, calendar or SMS access.
- No audio recording on mobile. Recording lives in the desktop app, where the audio stays on your own computer.
Where the data lives
School data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure used by the have a band school platform
at system.haveaband.app. Traffic between the app and the servers is encrypted with
HTTPS. Access is restricted to the school's own people and to the operators who keep the service
running.
Students under 18
Accounts for minors are created by the school, which is responsible for obtaining the consent required by law from the parent or guardian. A guardian gets their own account and can follow the student. Minors are not offered advertising and are not profiled. Participation in the wider network beyond the school requires explicit consent recorded by the school and can be withdrawn at any time.
How long it is kept
School data is kept while the student is enrolled and afterwards for as long as the school's own record keeping and Brazilian accounting and tax rules require. When a school leaves the platform, its data is deleted or returned according to the contract with that school.
Your rights
Under the LGPD in Brazil and the GDPR in Europe you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, and to object to a given use. Ask your school first, since the school holds the record. You can also write to us and we will forward the request and follow up.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and schools are told. Continuing to use the app after that means the new version applies.
